Welcome to the Class of 2026 Graduation webpage! We’re excited to celebrate this special year with our seniors and their families. This page will be your go-to place for important graduation information, including key dates, senior deadlines, ceremony details, announcements, and celebration events.

Dates and Information

During the week of June 8, all seniors must complete a check-out sheet. Check-out sheets will be distributed in homeroom on June 8 and will also be available in the main office or Ms. Coe’s office.

Completed forms must be returned to your student’s counselor by June 11, at 2:30 p.m, to be cleared for senior breakfast and gradatuion. Students will not be allowed to participate in the senior breakfast or graduation ceremony without completing the check-out. This includes students who participate in running start.

Check-out includes:

  • Returning all chromebooks, chargers, library books, and textbooks to the main office
  • All fines and food balances paid off and current
  • All physical education waivers and other required paperwork completed and returned to counselors
  • Community service hours completed and paperwork returned to Ms. Coe.
  • Where final transcipt will be sent. If this is to an institution not on Common Applications, seniors must use Parchment to order a transcipt.

Senior Breakfast, Graduation Rehearsal, and Senior Stroll

  • June 12: 8:30-11:00 a.m.

Senior breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Great Hall. It is not mandatory but encouraged as a special time to connect with your class and enjoy one last delicious meal from our Food Services Program.

Graduation Rehearsal will begin on-site, at 9:30 a.m., and is a required event for all seniors participing in the commencement ceremony.

Senior Stroll will take place after rehearsal is over, at approximately 10:45 a.m. Students should plan on wearing their caps and gowns for the Senior Stroll.

 


Links Graduation

  • June 12: 3:30-5:30 p.m., VHS Theater

Details about the Links Graduation will be sent out to students and families in a separate message. If you are a Links student and want to walk during the commencement ceremony, you must email Jenn Coe at jcoe@vashonsd.org no later than June 5, at 3:00 p.m.

Class of 2026 Car Parade

  • June 13: 12:00-1:00 p.m.

The senior parade will begin to gather and line-up at the Harbor School parking lot beginning at 11:15 a.m. The procession will be led by a school van starting promptly at 11:45 a.m. and drive southbound through town at noon. Students will slowly pass the Voice of Vashon stage to have their name read. A parent/guardian/family friend should drive the vehicle so that the student can be a passenger. Other friends/family may stand along the parade route to wave and cheer. Please do not throw candy!

Students should wear their cap and gown and decorate their vehicle with their first and last name on the passenger-side door so that the emcee can clearly read it.

The event will be recorded and aired live on VOV 101.9 FM radio.

Class of 2026 Commencement Ceremony

  • June 13: 5:00 p.m., VHS Stadium

Graduations will be held outdoors in the Vashon High School stadium. There is no limit to the number of guests each student can invite. In the unlikely event that weather forces the ceremony to take place indoors, each graduate will be limited to six guests. Seniors need to arrive at the VHS gym by 4:00 p.m. with cap, tassel, gown, and stole. No high heels are allowed on the turf field!

For families who need assistance with mobility, please contact Jackie Merrill at jmerrill@vashonsd.org for accomodations.

The stadium will open to guests at 4:00 p.m. and seating is on a first come/first served basis. THere will be a reception in the courtyard and lunchroom immediately following the ceremony. Students will be able to pick up their diplomas in the Great Hall after the ceremony.

Safe Grad Night

  • June 13: 6:45 p.m. – 3:00 a.m.

Each year, a dedicated team of parent/guardian volunteers plans a fun night of safe celebrations for seniors after graduation. Registered seniors need to check in at the Great Hall beginning at 6:50 p.m. for the party. Students will begin loading buses at 7:20 p.m. Graduates will be transported to a secret venue for the festivities. Students will need to be picked up in downtown Vashon at 3:00 a.m. More details about pick-up location and the event will be communicated closer to graduation.
